The first season of the American television series began on January 30, 2013 and ended on May 1, 2013. It consisted of 13 episodes, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. FX broadcast the first season on Wednesday at 10:00 pm in the United States. The series is produced by DreamWorks Television. Americans were created by Joe Weisberg.
Set during the Cold War era of the 1980s, Americans are the story of Elizabeth (Kerry Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Reese), two Soviet KGB officers who pose as US husbands in the Washington suburbs, and their neighbor, Stan Beiman (Noah Emerich), an FBI agent.
